Sitting in Circle at our Sharing Assembly
The entire school sat in Circle for the first time at our Sharing Assembly today. A circle symbolizes equality, connection and inclusivity, and promotes a sense of shared participation and belonging. This practice is deeply rooted in many Indigenous cultures where circles are used for important discussions and community building. At our assembly we explained the symbolism of circle, and one of our Grade 3/4 classes shared a poem about Circle. We are proud of our Westwind students for listening so attentively and respectfully today.
