Our Westwind Wave Logo

June Chiba, a former Principal at Westwind, designed our Westwind Wave school logo. Did you ever wonder what our Westwind Wave Logo represents? The colour blue in the design represents our school’s proximity to the Fraser River. The yellow in the design represents the sun. Both the water and sun are crucial elements in our ecosystem that are required for growth. The wave represents momentum and the everchanging tide of teaching and learning. The logo’s shape is circular to represent forward momentum.
 
For the 2023/24 school year, we will be unpacking the meaning behind our school logo with the students, staff and parents, and embarking on a community-wide initiative that we’re calling “The Wave of Kindness”.
