We have created multi-aged teams so we can foster building our school community to a greater degree. This opportunity lends itself to making new friends at different grade levels and allowing our older students an opportunity to practice their leadership skills. As a lead up to Halloween, we had each student bring a pumpkin to school to carve and students carved them all together in multi-aged teams in the gym. Once all the pumpkins were carved, we plugged in many strings of lights to light up the pumpkins and the classes came by for a gallery walk, viewing the many creative designs. It was a fantastic way to build community early in the year!
