Info meeting for Westwind’s Cross Country Running Team - Wednesday September 20^th at recess in the gym

We are entering our team in the Annual District-wide race taking place on October 17^th 3:30 at Garry Point.

•It is set up for students in grades 1 through 7, but if parents feel their Kindergarten child can run 900m (with grade 1 students) and enjoy themselves, by all means please feel free to participate.

•At our info meeting, we will explain to the students what the race is all about, discuss the differences between jogging for leisure and racing, and share some training and racing strategies.

•Our training sessions will take place during our usual school-wide runs on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays at 1:45pm.  

•The students will also come home with a permission form, and on that has a request for parent help at the race assisting with school jersey distribution and collection, as well as photography.

If your child is unsure if they want to go, have them come to the info meeting and they can decide after. They’ll be surprised how many of their classmates are going. We had over 70 students go last year.
