Westwind Wave of Kindness Summer Challenge

Catch the Westwind Wave SUMMER KINDNESS CHALLENGE

For the 2023-2024 school year, we will be unpacking our school logo with the students, staff and parents, and embarking on a community-wide initiative that we’re calling “The Wave of Kindness.” We encourage all students at Westwind to start a ripple and create a wave.

As a soft kick-off to this initiative, we are encouraging all of our students to participate in the Westwind Summer Kindness Challenge. Students are welcome to show us their acts of kindness by providing a video, a photo, or a description of what they did this summer and sending this to our school email westwind@sd38.bc.ca. We already have an example of a kind act on our @westwindwaves instagram account. We will be monitoring this email over the summer for your acts of kindness and will post on our school Instagram.

Some Act of Kindness examples:

• Ask a new friend to play/hang out with you.

• Pick up trash at a park, lake or beach.

• Draw a picture and give it to someone.

• Help your parents with chores without being asked.

• Hold the door open for someone.

• Make kindness rocks (with a message on them) and hide them for others to discover.

• Give someone a compliment.
